Anybody spare half a billion?
Chrissy has a point where in New Zealand is there that is big enough? Core Education, or whoever organises stuff like this does their best I’m sure but I missed lunch after my presentation and the following breakout because of the positions of the various venues.
I feel like I’m moaning, but really I’m not. Honest. I’m just making the point that Chrissy has a point. Perhaps its just that venues that big and broad are just not needed, except twice a year Learning@Schools and ULearn?
But then I can’t believe that ICTPD is the biggest conference in NZ.
I could have a moan with you Simon… presently I am nursing a humongous blister on the back of my heel, it is about the size of our old 50c coins… not nice.
I survived 2 full days shopping up and down Queen Street but it was no match for 3 days of ULearn… and now I limp back to school….
Oh, and yes, I went hungry many a time too..
Maybe we need to organise our own smaller conference so that we can have things on a smaller scale that is able to fit into NZ!!!!
PS – do you know why the holidays were chosen for this conference????????
Rachel the holidays answer is easy. Cost. If the conference was held in school time the effective cost of each of our tickets for the three days, excluding flights and accommodation would be $1000. Your Principal would have to factor in relievers for each day that you attended the conference and not many of us would get clearance to go. A sacrifice I know.
