Have just been listening to Wes Fryer’s keynote where he shared The video below. This video is very inspiring as a learner and challenging as an educator. Seeing the main speaker reminded me of Roger Schank and the podcast Wes shared years ago . It is still about the shifting face of Education and I feel we will be continuing on this same theme for sometime yet.
How do go from inspiring keynote addresses and thought provoking blogs and podcasts to devloping programmes, stuctures and packaging this in a way that makes it accessible to every teacher, and I mean EVERY teacher- yes even the laggards!
We are yet to reach the tipping point in this "Educational Revolution". We have a long, long, LONG way to go.
As I begin my first search into "What is Digital Literacy?" I come across this slideshare. Wish there was some audio with it. But is appears to be quite a sound place to begin my journey…. right up-to-date.
Having spent the day putting imovie and iphoto through their paces I can see why, "when you use a MAC you’ll not want to back" (- if that catchphrase has not been coined yet I’ll take a grand a pop thanks). The use is so effortless. I was very fortuate to be lent the MAC for the day. But what sort is it. I never realised they can in different sizes. I know the big desktop with the CPU in the screen and I know the Macbook, imac?? Is this an ibox?? or something else? Anyone?
Is this the future of TV? Where episodes are 6 minutes long. And "Anyone" can create a series. I certainly will be following this one. This would be great for intermediates- What are the questions that come to our minds after 5min 50 secs?
