Easter Journey: Part4: Wednesday

As I continue along the Easter journey I am reminded how Peter denies Jesus three times. I have always taken away the same message from that passage, that we must stand up for Jesus when we’re talking about our faith and belief. But what I saw for the first time, ever I think, is the presence of "the other disciple who is known to Caiaphas (the high priest)" . The presence of this disciple enables Peter to enter the inner courtyard but then he is not mentioned, but is purely an observer of Jesus’ trial. Is he standing with Jesus? Beside him? Or from a distance?
The message here today does not concern this incident I describe, that is for Friday. Today we are considering Jesus’ relationship with Lazarus, Mary and Martha. Why does he take six days to come to the aid of his beloved friend?
