Top Ten with ‘the Man’

I’ll let you decide which man ‘the man’ refers to.

Some further info hot off the press:

“BETTER BROADBAND FOR NEW ZEALAND

Last week, we released details of our $1.5 billion ultra-fast broadband investment initiative. Ultra-fast broadband is a breakthrough technology that will connect our communities and allow Kiwi businesses to reach customers around the globe. The Government is partnering with the private sector to roll out ultra-fast broadband to 75% of New Zealand homes over the next 10 years, with an initial focus on businesses, schools, and health centres. This complements our plan for a $300 million public-private investment in rural broadband over the next six years.

BOOSTING OPPORTUNITIES BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

The Government is providing the first 2000 places for our Youth Guarantee in 2010. The Youth Guarantee will allow 16- and 17-year-olds to study for school-level qualifications at polytechs, institutes of technology, wananga, or private training establishments. It will give students who are disengaged at school the chance to continue learning in a non-school setting and get the skills they need.”

Any thoughts to the usual address please.

Just thinking that it would be great to get together over Breakfast again this year.

I will be hopefully booking a table at the Decadence Cafe again this year, Thursday 8th October, 7am. But I need to have an idea of numbers so please just leave a comment and make sure you check for my updates after I’ve booked.

Ps. Get the word out too and perhaps we could take over a whole place. Look out Christchurch, here we come.

Run down

Normally I don’t comment on the wider world but I was sat in the staffroom at lunch today and this story made me feel physically sick.

To think that people would do that. Randomly let alone have it organised or suggested by gang members. Obviously I know little of the gang world but when I read of this I began to question whether a ‘life sentence’ in its current form equals justice here. And here’s assuming that the 18year old get the maximum sentence for such a crime.

I am normally one who opposes state sanctioned ‘murder’ by lethal injection or whatever.

But I am beginning to wonder whether the consquences of peoples actions marry with the deed.

Stopmotion workshop

There are just few pictures of the attendees of my stopmotion workshop. It’s amazing what can be created with simply a webcam, windows movie maker/ imovie and bit of imagination.

What I love about this workshop is that after the first 30 minutes of my introductions the remainder of the workshop is completely dependent on the delegates and the direction they wish to go as they spend either a long or short time trying out the different sorts of animation.

This particular workshop everyone focused on cutout rather than pen and ink.
